The International Centre for Diffraction Data sponsors clinics in X-ray powder diffractometry and X-ray fluorescence spectrometry. These weeklong courses offer training in both theoretical and practical applications.

If you are a faculty member or graduate student currently developing a program or refining an established course in X-ray Fluorescence (XRF) or X-ray Powder Diffraction (XRD), we encourage you to apply for an ICDD tuition waiver. Tuition waivers provide the opportunity for the academic sector to learn the principles and practices of this discipline from some of the experts in the field. This year’s XRF and XRD I tuition waivers are in honor of Dr. Ron Jenkins and the XRD II tuition waiver is in honor of Dr. Deane K. Smith.

HOW TO APPLY:

• Submit a one page written request stating your objective in attending the clinic and/or how you plan to incorporate X-ray materials analysis into your curriculum.
• Complete a clinic registration form.
• Submit the application and registration form by March 21, 2005 for the XRF clinic, April 25, 2005 for XRD I and May 2, 2005 for XRD II.
