The International Centre for Diffraction Data (ICDD) is
seeking nominees for the 2004 J.D. Hanawalt Powder Diffraction Award for
an important, recent contribution to the field of powder
diffraction.
The award is named for Professor J. Donald Hanawalt, whose pioneering work in the 1930s led to the development of the PDF® database structure and search/match procedures still in use today. Work eligible for consideration must have been published within the last several years. The Selection Committee welcomes suggestions, nominations, and documentation of accomplishments for possible recipients through 1 March 2004. The award will be presented at an appropriate powder diffraction/crystallographic meeting. The recipient's travel expenses to the meeting will be provided.
