Social Event -

Uncover American History at the National Constitution Center

constitution Following the Plenary Session, members and guests of ICDD are invited to join us as we travel to historic Philadelphia to spend the afternoon at the National Constitution Center. The Constitution Center is an independent, non-partisan, non-profit organization dedicated to increasing awareness about the U.S. Constitution and its relevance in Americans’ daily lives.

The permanent exhibit, The Story of We the People, tells the 200 year-old story about the U.S. Constitution with the aid of multimedia - from colonial artifacts, which were unearthed during construction of the Center, to the film and live-acted show, “Freedom Rising,” to the texts of the Constitution displayed on a glass wall which runs the length of two full city blocks.

During our visit to the Constitution Center, a special exhibition entitled, Spies, Traitors and Saboteurs: Fear and Freedom in America, will be on display. The exhibit, originally displayed in the International Spy Museum, illustrates the challenge of securing our nation without compromising the civil liberties upon which it was founded.
