PDF-4+

PDF-4 databases are designed to handle a wide range of materials analyses. The database contains the world’s largest and most diverse collection of inorganic materials and includes both powder and single crystal data, data on crystalline and amorphous materials, and the world’s largest collection of modulated structures. The large collection of atomic and molecular structures is used to enable sophisticated molecular graphics, as well as, neutron, synchrotron and electron diffraction analysis capabilities.  Full experimental digital libraries are useful in the analysis of non-crystalline polymers, clays and amorphous pharmaceuticals.

Using 3D Structure Graphics with PDF-4 Databases

 

Library of experimental patterns for smectite which has a layer structure and two dimensional crystallinity. The low angle, high d-spacing region, shows the variable interlayer distance. The library can be used to characterize interlayer swelling and intercalation of these absorbent materials.
