Powder Diffraction FileTM (PDF®) Entry (Card) Download

Free Access to Selected PDF Entries for Student Researchers

The International Centre for Diffraction Data (ICDD) is committed to supporting education and research in the field of materials characterization. As part of this initiative, verified student researchers are eligible to receive up to five PDF entries from the Powder Diffraction File database at no cost.

Upon creating an ICDD account and confirming their student status, participants may select and download up to five PDF entries in their preferred data format:

  • CIF (Crystallographic Information File) (*.cif) ― Includes essential crystallographic data such as unit cell parameters and atomic coordinates, ideal for use in X-ray diffraction (XRD) and related analytical software.

  • PDF (*.pdf) ― Contains the complete published dataset for each phase, suitable for viewing in any standard PDF viewer such as Adobe Acrobat.

This program is designed to provide students with valuable access to high-quality diffraction data, fostering a deeper understanding of crystallography, materials science, and phase identification techniques.
